The Lowestoft Players just love Christmas. Our annual pantomime will be staged at The Marina Theatre in January 2023 – Snow White, the ultimate fairytale pantomime for all the family!
As Snow White is several weeks away, it’s been decided to squeeze a second seasonal production in to the diary - We need a little Christmas - A festive
Cabaret.
There will be five performances of this additional production from 7th to 11th December 2022 at the Players Theatre.
The production team are looking for a group of people, who just love Christmas too! Singers, choral singers and four dancers are needed. Included also will be readings plus comedy. The show will not be exclusively about Christmas, so a touch of popular music can be added.
Here’s the important bit - Auditions for the Festive Christmas Cabaret will take place on Sunday 30th October at the Players Theatre.
Soloists are invited to bring along their song(s) to the audition, for consideration to be used in the Cabaret. (It does not need to be a Christmas song). People wishing to join the Chorus should bring their own song and music. If you cannot bring your own music, choral singers will be asked to sing the all-time favourite, White Christmas.
Please attend your audition as a soloist or as part of a duet or a chorus with your prepared material where possible. (Song, Reading, Comedy Routine etc.) Jimmy Atkin, straight from the stage as Dick in 9 to 5 The Musical and also Dame Julie Jubilee in this year’s pantomime, will lead the Production team with Steph and Maurice Garrod offering assistance. Steph and Maurice have more years’ experience performing with the Lowestoft Players than they probably care to remember.
Auditions for soloists will be held from 9.00am and auditions for choral singers/dancers will be held from 1.00pm.

Monday 5th December, evening - Tech Rehearsal
Tuesday 6th December, evening - Dress Rehearsal
Wednesday 7th December - Performance at 7.30pm
Thursday 8th December - Performance at 7.30pm
Friday 9th December - Performance at 7.30pm
Saturday 10th December - Performance at 2.30pm
Sunday 11th December - Performance at 2.30pm
Rehearsals will be held on Monday and Friday evenings in November and early December, split between the Players Theatre, Battery Green Road and the Men’s Shed in Stradbroke Road, Pakefield (The Players former headquarters).
Catherine Oldman will be the Musical Director and Beth Freeman will be the choreographer for this production.
