A surprise reveal has been held for Alex Bracey who will play Arthur Kipps in our forthcoming production of Kipps – The New Half a Sixpence Musical.
He was whisked away by fellow performers during a costume fitting this week to be shown the latest advertising material for the show, courtesy of Aldreds Estate Agents in town. The boards include a photograph of Alex, dressed as Arthur Kipps.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when the board was revealed to me!” exclaimed Mr Bracey.
“Obviously I knew that my photograph had been taken, but I thought it was going to be used within the Players Theatre to promote the show - I never expected this. I love it though and, I’m certain that my biggest fan, my Mum, will want one to keep after the show. It’s far too big for her mantel piece, so goodness knows where she will put it!”

Darren Capps, Manager of Aldreds, Lowestoft said “We’ve been helping the very talented Lowestoft Players with publicity for a few shows now, but this is the first time that we’ve featured one of the cast members. We printed the boards in secret, so I was rather relieved to hear that ‘Arthur Kipps’ likes them.”
A spokesperson for The Lowestoft Players added “Words cannot express how grateful we are to Darren Capps and his team at Aldreds for the support they give us. Being a registered charity our budget for publicity is very low. Aldreds have totally and very generously covered the cost of this part of our publicity campaign.”
Kipps – The New Half a Sixpence Musical will be performed at The Players Theatre, Battery Green Road from 7th to 15th June. Tickets are available from www.playerstheatre.info or by calling 01502 770020.
