With only a few weeks to go until we stage our first musical for 2023 - The Hunchback of Notre Dame, our rehearsal schedule is full on. However, we have managed to fit in a live music act, to which you are invited!

After sell out shows at several theatres in East Anglia, Free and Company, one of the UK’s finest tribute bands to the classic rock giants “Free” and “Bad Co.” will bring their two hour homage to these musical greats to the Players Theatre, Lowestoft on Saturday 22 April.
The band was formed by local musicians Ian Cook and Toby Jones who met at primary school back in the 1970s. Their love of classic rock began when they were in their teens. They formed a band, playing their first gig at a local church where they opened with Free’s biggest hit, the iconic ‘All Right Now’.
Fast forward many years and they are still together playing all the hits from these two great bands.
Local drum teacher, Matt Furness, the drummer in the band, has been a lifelong fan of Simon Kirke, drummer in both Free and Bad Co. He recently wrote to his hero telling him about his new band and Simon replied commending him on his “exceptional taste in music” and wishing him good luck.

The show will feature all the classic hits and deep cuts lovingly recreated to spirit you back to the days of loon pants and cheesecloth. (For those who were not around in the 1970s, loon pants are trousers which flare from the knee, often worn in bright colours.)
We asked the members of Free and Co whether they will actually be wearing loon pants and cheesecloth for their visit to the Players Theatre?
They responded “Well, we do love to dress up, but you’ll have to wait and see!”
A spokesperson for the Players Theatre said “It’s going to be another fantastic night of live music at Britain’s Most Easterly Theatre. With tickets priced at just £12 it’s going to be tremendously good value too.”
Tickets to see Free and Co are available from www.playerstheatre.info or by calling our Box Office on 01502 770020. The doors and bar for the Theatre will open at 7.30pm, live music will start at eight.
